Fertilizing Tips For Your Lawn

Nutrition for New Sod Installation

For good root growth and to get your lawn started out right you will need to fertilize. A good fertilizer will have nitrogen, some phosphorus, and some potassium. The fertilizer that you choose should be similar to a 6-20-20 analysis (6% nitrogen, 20% phosphorus, 20% potassium) or a 15-15-15 (15% nitrogen, 15% phosphorus, 15% potassium). Apply the fertilizer right before the sod is installed, or immediately after the sod is installed.

When should I fertilize?

You’ll want to fertilize your turfgrass every 30 days to maintain a healthy lawn. Good turf nutrition is the key to a weed and disease free lawn.
